Les Patterson??Ÿ?¦Ÿ??s Monday Morning Boost: Remembering those who served

Memorial Day is our time as a nation to remember those who have gone before. Specifically, it’s our time to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. Cemeteries come to life with scented flowers and fluttering flags. Families gather to remember, history is shared, connections remembered.

I wrote this little poem as we placed flowers on family graves in the Logan City Cemetery –

Flowers remember
a moment in time
a loved one cherished
our connecting vine.

I’ve chosen to share, as my way of remembering, photos from my Dad’s funeral back in February. Some of you may have never experienced a military funeral before. Perhaps these photos will give you a small feeling of that solemn experienced. As you view the photos enjoy the sounds of Taps being played at Arlington National Cemetery.

Have a great Monday. Have a great Memorial Day. Thanks for letting me share.

p.s. Take 15 minutes today to remember those who “have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.”
