Las Vegas City Council Approves More Than $76,000 In Grants To Improve Neighborhoods

Nineteen Neighborhood Projects To Receive Funding

The Las Vegas City Council approved $76,711 in Neighborhood Partners Fund grants at today’s City Council meeting. The grants are matched with more than $160,000 from the community and will improve and beautify neighborhoods.

The Neighborhood Partners Fund grants up to $5,000 to registered neighborhood groups to make improvements. This year, 19 groups have been awarded grants for projects ranging from community gardens to street signage, Neighborhood Watch programs, and even a mini community library. These projects build community to make life better in the city of Las Vegas,

During the last 20 years, the city has invested $1.1 million in community improvement projects through the Neighborhood Partners Fund. The community has matched those grants with $2.9 million in volunteer labor, sponsorships and in-kind donations.

A 13-member community board appointed by the City Council makes recommendations for the grants
