Las Vegas City Council Approves Holiday Toys For Tickets Program

Non-Public Safety Parking Tickets Issued Nov. 7-19 Eligible To Be Resolved With Toy Donation

The Las Vegas City Council approved a program that will allow those issued non-public safety-related parking tickets to pay fines with toy donations. The city is partnering with the Salvation Army to offer those with parking tickets issued between Nov. 7 and 19 the opportunity to resolve fines with toy donations for the organization’s Annual Christmas Angel Program.

The annual toys for tickets program partners with a different charity each year. This year it will help support the Christmas Angel Program that provides gifts to children in need.

Tickets may be resolved with a non-violent, unwrapped toy or toys of equal or greater value than the ticket fine. To participate, drivers must bring the parking ticket, toy(s) and receipt for the toy(s) to the city of Las Vegas Parking Services Office, located in the City Hall Parking Garage at 500 S. Main St. by Dec. 19. Parking Services hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, excluding holidays.

The following public safety and handicap-related parking tickets are excluded from the program:

  • Any handicap-related violation
  • Red curb
  • 18” from curb
  • Blocking alley
  • No parking areas
  • Fire lane/hydrant
  • Traffic hazard
  • No stopping/no standing
