Lane changes coming in Meadows Boulevard cone zone

Since August, crews have been working to replace damaged concrete and smooth out pavement along Meadows Boulevard between North Meadows and Cherokee drives.

Coming up next week and the following – weather permitting – are some lane changes associated with the project.

Crews have been working in the westbound lanes between Cherokee Drive and North Wildflowers Way. Starting Monday, Oct. 8, they’re going to shift their work area to the westbound lanes between North Wildflowers Way and North Meadows Drive, taking advantage of the fact that less traffic will be in that area during the nearby schools’ fall break. Work in that area is expected to last all of next week.

Then, starting Oct. 15, work will shift to the eastbound lanes, with traffic flowing head-to-head in the westbound lanes in the project area. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-November.

Drivers are asked to please be patient – especially during school drop-off and pick-up times – and also to be aware of changing conditions and construction workers. Alternate routes include Butterfield Crossing Drive.

Annual road maintenance helps ensure Castle Rock’s roadways remain safe and maximizes the lifespan of the Town’s pavement. In all, the Town will invest $11 million in street maintenance this year. The funding is primarily from the Town’s Transportation Fund, which includes revenues from sales tax, motor vehicle tax and building use tax.
