Beginning Monday, November 28, Parks and Recreation will start the renovation of Lakeview Park, at the southwest corner of N.W. 20th and “Q” streets in northwest Lincoln.  The project will include the installation of new ADA accessible playground equipment, playground surfacing, a picnic shelter, drinking fountain, half-court basketball court and landscaping.  The park is tentatively scheduled to reopen in March 2017.

J.J. Yost, Planning and Construction Manager for Parks and Recreation, said the current park amenities are more than 20 years old and have reached the end of their safe and useful lifespan. Funding for the project comes from a Federal Land and Water Conservation Grant and private donations from the Lincoln Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Club Fountain.

“This is another great example of the successful public-private partnerships that have been created in Lincoln and of our community’s commitment to provide desirable public spaces throughout the City,” Yost said.
