Wild Wednesdays: Alien Invasion!

Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist and discover what species of plants and animals don’t belong on the property and how they got here. Wear work clothes and bring a pair of gloves to help get rid of some alien invaders.  Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Head to the Ogden Nature Center and celebrate Father’s Day. Come learn some outstanding and crazy facts about fathers in nature: from the seahorse that goes through contractions at birth, to frog fathers that keep their baby tadpoles in their mouths for safety. Bring your father and explore the wonders of animal dads. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Come celebrate the summer solstice at the Ogden Nature Center.  Find out why some days are longer than others. With the help of a few live animals, discover how animals and plants, including us, adjust to the long days of summer. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

R.A.M.P. SUMMER SATURDAYS
The Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer, June 6 – August 22.  We will be closed on July 4.

Activities are led by a naturalist and will be held at 10 am and 1 pm every Saturday. Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more. Just show up and have fun! Please check in at the Visitor Center front desk.

OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERTS
Friday, June 5, Laney Jones and The Spirits
Concert begins at 7 pm, gates open at 6 pm

Raised on an exotic animal farm in the rural South, Laney Jones sings tales of love and adventure with a voice that has been described as “a mix of lemon, molasses, gin and gunpowder” (WPRK), mellifluous and smooth but brimming with passion. Her multi-instrumental prowess on banjo, ukulele, tenor guitar and harmonica backed by her band, The Spirits, is taking her far from the orange groves and marshes of her native Florida.

The outdoor concerts at the Ogden Nature Center combine gorgeous sunsets and an unrivaled outdoor setting with lively, fresh musicians!  Pack a picnic, bring low-rise chairs or a blanket, and get ready for fabulous summer nights at the Ogden Nature Center.  Boxed picnic dinners catered by Union Grill may also be purchased for $11 each when purchasing tickets.
