NEW ORLEANS – NOPD officers with the assistance of TIGER Unit detectives and JPSO’s Strategic Engagement Team have arrested Darwin Alonzo (DOB: 01/06/1989) in connection with an aggravated burglary incident.
On October 2, 2018, at or around 11:30 a.m., a residence was burglarized in the 500 block of Florida Boulevard.
Officers began an exhaustive investigation which led them into Jefferson Parish. With the assistance of JPSO’s Strategic Engagement Team, multiple search warrants were obtained and executed.
During the course of the investigation, Alonzo was positively identified as one of the perpetrators who committed the aggravated burglary. Alonzo was arrested by JPSO on firearms and narcotics related charges.
TIGER Group detectives, based off of evidence found during the investigation, were then able to obtain arrest warrants for Alonzo for the aggravated burglary. A second person of interest has been identified and another perpetrator remains at large.
