ART IN NATURE SERIES
Signs of the Seasons Color Wheel
Thursday, January 9, 6-7:30 pm
Led by ONC teacher-naturalist and artist Susan Snyder, a signs of the season wheel records nature’s events one month at a time. We’ll get you started with making your wheel and illustrating January. Bring a photograph of something outdoors snapped in January, or use one of ours for reference. All supplies included. Members $12/class or $32 for all three Art in Nature classes. Non-members $15/class or $40 for all three classes. Ages 12+. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Pre-registration required by 5 pm Tuesday, Jan. 7. No day-of-class signups.

ART IN NATURE SERIES
Mixed Media Valentine Art
Thursday, February 6, 6-8 pm
We’ll break out the paper, paint, and collage skills as we create a mixed media Valentine ode to what or whom you love! Suitable for framing. All supplies included. Members $12/class or $32 for all three Art in Nature classes. Non-members $15/class or $40 for all three classes. Ages 12+. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by participating adult. Pre-registration required by 5 pm Tues., Feb. 4. No day-of-class signups.

Let’s Go Birding Together Owl Prowl
Friday, January 31, 6:30-9 pm
Meet one of our owls, and prowl around the center after dark, in search of owls who are calling out during mating season. We’ll then convene either at the fire pit or indoors, depending on weather, for refreshments. BYO refreshments or enjoy cocoa or cider provided. Participants in this inclusive event must be 21 and older; IDs will be checked at the door. Pre-registration required by 5 pm Wednesday, January 29. Cost, $8/members, and $12/non-members.

Winter Preschool Program — Frozen Landscapes
Choose a date and time:
Jan. 27 – 9:30 & 11 am, 1 pm
Jan. 28 – 9:30 & 11 am
Feb. 24 – 9:30 & 11 am, 1 pm
Feb. 25 – 9:30 & 11 am
Investigate the patterns of crystals and snowflakes and explore the frozen landscape through games, songs, stories and more! Snow shoes, sledding and snow painting if weather permits.
Preschool programs are designed for ages 3-5. Cost, $5/members per child/adult pair; $6/non-members. Groups of 5 or more, $5/child, with 50% nonrefundable deposit paid in advance. Call 801-621-7595 to register. Classes subject to cancelation with low registration.

Wild Wednesdays: Snow Tracks – What’s the trick to tracking?
Wednesday, January 8th from 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Free for members / Free with admission: $5 adults, $4 senior, $3 kids (2-11)

Explore the trails with an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist, identify local animal species and solve animal print puzzles in the snow. Dress for the weather. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Wild Wednesdays: The Bear Facts – Big, Hairy and a little Scary!
Wednesday, January 15th from 3:45pm – 4:15pm

Explore the wonderful world of bears with an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist. Investigate the lives of black bears, grizzly bears and their polar bear cousins to the North. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Wild Wednesdays: Rascally Rodents
Wednesday, January 22nd from 3:45pm – 4:15pm

All ages
Imagine what it would be like to have teeth that never stop growing. Rodents make up 40% of all mammal species. Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we explore the world of squirrels, mice, beavers and porcupines. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Wild Wednesdays: Wonderful and Wacky Woodpeckers

Did you know that Utah has 13 different species of woodpeckers? With a sharp chisel like beak and a super long tongue, the woodpecker is an amazing bird with unique adaptations. Join us as we learn about and search for woodpeckers. Meet in the Visitor’s Center.

Nests, Nooks & Storybooks
Every Tuesday from 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Free for members / Free with admission: $5 adults, $4 seniors, $3 kids (2-11)
All ages
Grab a blanket and join us out in the field, alongside a pond, or under the trees for story time at the Ogden Nature Center! Every Tuesday afternoon, come read a book with us outside. We’ll dive deeper into the themes of the story by exploring the Ogden Nature Center. Please check in at the Visitor Center. No reservations needed, just drop in!
