“Go Big, Go Fast!” is a super-sized initiative designed to improve, upgrade, and enhance Fort Lauderdale’s water and wastewater systems, strengthening our overall infrastructure.
* Critical new sewer main is 50% complete
Installation has passed the halfway mark for the completion of 1,818 linear feet of an important 30-inch sewer main from SW 2nd Street at 8th Avenue to SW 7th Street at SW 6th Avenue, as well as the construction of a new pipeline deep under the bed of the New River at SW 7th Avenue.
* Fast progress on Sistrunk Boulevard
Deep underground drilling, known as directional boring, for 6,400 linear feet of new sewer main along Sistrunk Boulevard is also 50% complete. New pipeline along the stretch of Sistrunk Boulevard from NW 19th Avenue to NW 4th Avenue is scheduled for installation in October.
* Downtown Himmarshee Village underground work starts in early October
Construction work for a new sewer main on SW 2nd Street from 4th Avenue to 8th Avenue starts next week. A new 1,500 linear foot pipeline is scheduled to be installed in early November.
