Hard Rock Hotel Announced for Village South at Edwardsville Project

During the August 27, 2018 Edwardsville City Council meeting, Jon Monson of the Compass Commodity Group III development team announced that the Hard Rock Hotel is the planned hotel brand for the Village South at Edwardsville project. The site will feature a 10-story hotel, rooftop bar/restaurant with a view of the Kansas Speedway, a 39,000 sq. ft. convention center, ground-level restaurant, and pool feature.

The Hard Rock announcement is the latest development for the Village South at Edwardsville project, which was originally conceived to be a two-hotel project that included a La Quinta and Holiday Inn. This latest news has caused considerable excitement in the Kansas City area and is anticipated to be a destination in and of itself.

The City is continuing to finalize details for the project and all involved are hopeful that a building permit is issued in the fourth quarter of 2018. Estimates show the project will generate approximately $200,000 in additional sales tax revenue beginning in 2020.
