A group from the Cobra Council of the 388th Fighter Wing from HAFB are deploying to Afghanistan on Friday, October 5, 2012. The next day, Saturday, October 6th, the unit’s airmen who stay behind will be helping with a huge Halloween costume sale hosted by Northern Realty, just east of the Food Court at the Layton Hills Mall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A huge trailer filled with costumes was donated by The Spirit of Halloween. The costumes will be sold at half price at the Northern Realty office, where would-be goblins and gremlins can try on the costumes before purchasing them. There is an entrance to Northern Realty from the Food Court as well as from the parking lot. Proceeds from the sale benefit the airmen and their families.
Northern Realty Associate Broker and Owner L. T. Weese, who is an ardent supporter and civilian Honorary Commander of the Cobra Council, organized the Halloween costume fundraiser on October 6th and will be part of the solemn sendoff of the deploying airmen the previous day.
Weese has organized and hosted community fundraising events for Layton and several fundraisers to help military families, including last Friday’s Team Hill Roundup and a Car Show and Prize Raffle at The Gateway in Salt Lake City on October 13th for the Green Berets and a Haunted House at Northern Realty in the Layton Hills Mall on October 26th for the 388th Cobra Council as a followup to the costume sale. You can buy your half-price costume at Northern Realty on October 6th, then wear it back to the Haunted House on October 26th. It’s a fun way to help out the Cobra Council.
