FLAGSTAFF, AZ – FLAGSTAFF, AZ – The Hal Jensen Recreation Center (2403 N. Izabel) is scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.The recreation center was temporarily closed due to a police homicide investigation on Friday, March 3, 2017.
City Manager Josh Copley said “the City of Flagstaff extends our deepest appreciation to the citizens for their understanding during this difficult situation. Our City is committed to providing a safe and secure environment to the community and is proud of the professionalism and sensitivity presented by staff, police, fire and first responders.” The City will provide counseling services to patrons and community members that may be interested on-site Wednesday, March 8 from1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Thursday March 9 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 10 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Hours for the Hal Jensen Recreation Center are 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and 10:00a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday. The center is closed on Sunday. Please note during the Flagstaff Unified School District Spring break (3/14-3/17) the center will open at 10:00 a.m. The Hal Jensen Recreation Center (formerly known as the Flagstaff Recreation Center) has special events, a weight room, instructional classes, drop-in recreational programs and much more. The facility is also available for private rentals.
