GLENDALE, Ariz. – The perennial favorite on playgrounds everywhere is back – kickball! This fall, the Glendale Parks & Recreation Division will offer a new kickball league for boys and girls ages 3-8.
This league will emphasize physical fitness, equal participation and social and skill development. Games begin on Sept. 30 and will be held on Saturdays, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. and offered at two locations, Kachina Elementary School, 5304 W. Crocus Dr. and Rose Lane Park ballfield, 51st Ave. and Marlette Ave.
Players must sign up for the division of play in which they are eligible, determined by their age as of Sept. 30, 2017. The division ages, location of games and registration codes are as follows:
Pee Wee 3-5 year old Kachina 714155-01
Pee Wee 3-5 year old Rose Lane 714155-03
Rookies 6-8 year old Kachina 714155-02
Rookies 6-8 year old Rose Lane 714155-04
Volunteers age 18 and older are needed to coach teams. Practices can begin the week of Sept. 18, if enough parents and volunteers show an interest in coaching. The practice location, day(s) and time(s) are determined by the volunteer coach. Most practices are any day, Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and no more than twice a week.
Registration fee for each child is $55 (resident) or $75 (non-resident), which includes a team shirt and eight regular-season games. Deadline to register is Sept. 8.
