The Glendale Historic Preservation Commission sponsors the prestigious Ruth Byrne Historic Preservation Award on an annual basis to recognize outstanding contributions to the preservation of Glendale’s historic heritage. The award is named after Ruth Byrne, a Glendale native, who made significant contributions to historic preservation in the city of Glendale. Ruth served on the Historic Preservation Commission and was past president of the Glendale Arizona Historical Society.
Each year, the Glendale Historic Preservation Commission asks the community for support with this very important historic preservation activity.
