Give input on Diamond Hill Community Center replacement

outside of community centerDiamond Hill Community Center is located off of Northeast 36th Street, across from M.H. Moore Elementary School.

Residents in the Diamond Hill area are getting a new place to gather and play.

A project meeting to discuss plans for the demolition of the existing Diamond Hill Community Center and receive resident inputs for the design of the new center is scheduled for 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26, at the current Diamond Hill Community Center, 1701 N.E. 36th St.

The original Diamond Hill community center was built in the 1950s. A Community Development Block Grant-funded boxing ring was added to the existing building in 1997.

The new 25,000-square-foot community center building will include spaces for all the existing programs, as well as new programs.

Make plans to attend the public meeting and give input on what you would like to see constructed.
