GLENDALE, Ariz. – You’ll ‘bearly’ be able to stand all the joy you will get by attending the 14th annual Teddy Bear Day event on Saturday, Sept. 8 in downtown Glendale. This free family event runs 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Get that warm and fuzzy feeling with friends, family and your favorite furry bears as you embark on a fun-filled day of make-and-take arts and crafts and exclusive deals. Begin at the Event Information Booth located at the Arizona Doll & Toy Museum located at 5847 W. Myrtle Ave. Pick up the event map and visit with Al the Bear. This loveable, huggable bear will delight the young and young-at-heart from 10 a.m. to noon. Be sure to bring a camera to get a picture with this beary special guest. Additionally, the information booth along with Bears & More, Gracie’s Marketplace and The Astrology Store will be selling teddy bears for $10, with 100% of the proceeds to benefit local trauma teddy programs, first responders and emergency rooms.

Hop on the cool and comfortable mini bus sponsored by the Glendale Ambassadors to travel throughout the downtown area, visiting boutique stores, specialty shops and downtown eateries for special offers, discounts and activities including decorating a chocolate bear at Cerreta Candy Company, face painting, balloon artist, 4 Cousins Lemonade Stand, Arizona Search Dogs and a bear-themed craft at Velma Teague Library. Some activities have a nominal fee. In addition, Glendale Fire Department and Glendale Police Department vehicles will be on display.More activities and appearances will be added, check the website for further details.
