Gestational Diabetes Support Group

Hearing that you have gestational diabetes can be scary, BUT, you are not alone. With conversation and support from others, you will learn how to cope with your emotions and take care of yourself!

The Wyandotte County Public Health Department is hosting support group sessions to discuss Gestational Diabetes. This is an opportunity for pregnant women who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, along with their primary support person to join in the conversation with you.

There will be two sessions held at the Health Department located at 619 Ann Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm:

  • English Speaking Group – 1st Thursday of every month
  • Spanish Speaking Group – 2nd Thursday of every month

The following topics will be discussed…

What is gestational diabetes?
Managing feelings related to the diagnosis
Caring for gestational diabetes
