Free HOP and Buff Bus service for Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast at Folsom Field

Spectators of the “Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast” fireworks show on Wednesday, July 4, at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field are encouraged to avoid the hassles of driving and parking by taking advantage of free parking and HOP and University of Colorado (CU) Buff Bus transit services to and from the event.

Free parking will be available in all downtown City of Boulder-owned parking garages as well as at the Twenty Ninth Street Mall, providing easy access to transit services.

Free Fourth of July HOP service will run every 15 minutes between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. following the normal HOP looped route, with one change: after the Eastbound at Colorado Avenue and Folsom Street stop, HOP buses will follow Regent Drive to Broadway instead of following Colorado and Euclid Avenues. This change allows for greater accessibility to transit services for community members in the neighborhoods surrounding CU Boulder.

The free fireworks shuttle service to Folsom Field will begin at 7 p.m. and leave from the corner of 30th Street and Canyon Boulevard (just south of Century Theater). Both HOP and Buff Buses will be used for the shuttle service.

After the fireworks show until approximately 11 p.m., both the shuttle service and looping HOP buses will run on an as-needed basis to get riders safely to their destinations. All return buses will board at the southeast corner of Colorado Avenue and Folsom Street (by the Engineering Plaza). The buses will drop off passengers at the Twenty-Ninth Street Mall near the Century Theater parking structure.

The free HOP service, operated by Via Mobility Services, is being provided by the City of Boulder on the Fourth of July. Buff Bus service is being provided by CU Boulder. For additional HOP information, contact Via at 303-447-8282 or visit https://bouldercolorado.gov/goboulder/bus.
