Free health fair offers tips for looking and feeling good

City of Dallas Texas(DALLAS) – Fretz Recreation Center wants North Texans to look and feel good inside and out! Fretz is hosting a free community fair Monday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6950 Beltline Road to help individuals and families get information on critical health and social issues and connect with area health and wellness resources. 

The event highlights a specially designed wellness initiative offered at Fretz and other City of Dallas recreation centers for adults 55 and older. Texercise, a free 12-week nutrition and exercise program, is a series of incentive-based activities to encourage participants to eat healthy and do daily exercise.

The Methodist Health System Mobile Mammography Unit will offer screenings by appointment only. Call Methodist Health Connection at (214) 947-0026 for more information.

More than 20 area agencies and organizations will have representatives onsite with information on topics including Medicare, Medicaid, diabetes prevention, fitness trends and nutrition. Senior adults and individuals of all ages with disabilities will find health resources tailored for their needs.
