Fort Worth PD’s Explorer program named agency of the year in Texas

The Fort Worth Police Department was named agency of the year for its Law Enforcement Explorers program.

At the recent State Law Enforcement Exploring Competition, Fort Worth Explorers won several awards in the Team Scenario competitions:

  • Misdemeanor Traffic Stops, first place.
  • Crisis Negotiation, first place.
  • Unknown Call for Police, first place.
  • Felony Traffic Stops, second place.
  • Traffic Accidents, third place.
  • Domestic Crisis, third place.
  • Suicidal Mental Person, third place.

Giselle Perez and Enrique Alvarez earned scholarships for their participation in Explorers.

Christina Jerkins, captain of FWPD Post 511, was named Explorer of the Year.

Retired Officer Philip Woodward received the Honorary Life Member award.
