SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A formal installation service for Dr. Timothy A. Hager, dean of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary of Evangel University, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. in the Seymour Chapel at AGTS.
The timing coincides with the start of Evangel’s annual Homecoming Celebration, when many of the Board of Trustees and alumni will be in town. The installation service is a formal ceremony where faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends from around the world gather for dedication and celebration.
“It is an honor to dedicate Dr. Tim Hager’s leadership as dean of AGTS with this formal installation service,” said Dr. Carol Taylor, president of Evangel University.
“Dr. Hager’s passion for equipping men and women for effective ministry, his keen knowledge and love of the Assemblies of God and our church leaders, and his ability to lead complex organizations with transformational leadership is a tremendous asset to the seminary, the university, and our AG Fellowship.”
Dr. Hager holds the title vice president/dean; he began serving in this Cabinet-level position in January.
As vice president, he reports to President Taylor on church and other external relations and fund-development initiatives. As dean, Dr. Hager reports on all academic matters to Dr. Mike McCorcle, provost/executive vice president.
Dr. Hager brings a unique blend of academic, ministry and executive-level experience to the position. As a leader, he is passionate about the development of excellence in relationships and excellence in performance.
“It is a great honor to serve the church in a place where the development of future and current leaders is at the heart of the mission,” he said.
Prior to assuming his new position, he served as chief operating officer of the Assemblies of God national office. He has pastoral and district leadership experience in Iowa, Colorado, North Carolina and Virginia.
In addition, he has taught college-level courses for more than 20 years, in the classroom and online, in the U.S. and abroad.
Dr. Hager completed both his Master of Divinity (’89) and his Doctorate in Leadership Development and Management Theory in Non-Profits (’02) at AGTS.
