Flooding in Cache Valley Again

People were more prepared this time around with the floods. Rain all day on Sunday in Cache Valley and then again quite heavily throughout the day on Monday caused the Blacksmith Fork River to overflow its banks in a number of places.

In Millville, just east of the Maverik, the river was running high and was flowing over the east side of the river bank into an empty field. There were not any houses immediately in danger, but it was a site to see. The north bridge into Millville (at 2900 South) was closed due to high water over the road.

Closer to Logan, 1700 South Road was also closed just west of Blackhawk where water was running over the road which caused the bridge to be closed. The Country Manor subdivision had time to place hundreds of sandbags along the river which helped slow the flow of the river into their yards and basements.

The Western RV Park had water throughout most of the park, but not nearly as deep as it was a couple of weeks ago.

The National Weather Service indicates that the flooding should subside on Tuesday, but may increase again towards the end of the week with increasing temperatures.
