Financial Literacy Fair coming to Las Vegas Trail

Learn the latest techniques for increasing your financial literacy at an event geared toward residents of the Las Vegas Trail neighborhood, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. June 16 at the Westside YMCA, 8201 Calmont Ave.

Fort Worth’s Neighborhood Services Department is partnering with Texas Capital Bank to present the free event. Texas Capital Bank will have its 40-foot mobile unit on site to providing financial literacy. The mobile center’s curriculum is called Financial Instructional Tools, or FIT. Attendees can access educational modules covering a wide range of financial literacy topics such as savings, banking and checking accounts, paying for college, credit scores, and reports. Attendees will be given access to FIT via an online platform so that they can continue learning after the mobile center leaves.

The Fort Worth Police Department will provide child identification services, and Waste Management and the Code Compliance Department will have trucks on site for children to explore. Kona Ice will serve snow cones.
