Seattle City Light crews plan to install an underground duct bank (groups of conduits used to protect electrical cables) on 4th Avenue, near Jefferson Street. This project is needed to maintain and provide future capacity for electrical growth in the downtown core.
This project is scheduled to begin in early March 2020. To complete this work safely, there will be traffic and parking impacts to the surrounding area. Customers can expect temporary parking, sidewalk and traffic restrictions during this project. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic through the work zone. Crews will also maintain access for businesses and parking lots affected by the work areas.
Maintenance power outages are not expected for this project. If any outages are needed, notifications will be provided in advance of the outages.
Daily construction work hours are from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This project is projected to last approximately four months.
