Electrical Improvements Planned in the Meadowbrook Area
February 27, 2020
In 2014, Seattle City Light crews installed temporary overhead cables when the Thornton Creek bridge was rebuilt. In order to permanently restore the electrical infrastructure, crews will install underground electrical conduits and cables on 35th Avenue Northeast. This work is scheduled to start in mid-March 2020.
Crews will be working on the east side of 35th Avenue Northeast near Northeast 110th Street. Customers can expect temporary parking, sidewalk and traffic restrictions during construction. To alleviate congestion, flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Noise is also expected during construction hours. New sidewalks will also be installed as a part of the project.
Maintenance power outages are required to complete the restoration safely. Notifications will be provided to affected customers in advance. The notification will specify the date, time and duration of the upcoming outage.
Daily construction work hours are from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some weekend work is expected to complete the restoration work. This project is projected to last eight weeks.
