This is not to be confused with a cat on a hot tin roof. The restaurant has only been open for about four weeks and they are on top of their form. The interior is very comfortable with tables and booths. You know it is going to be healthy because it is located right in front of an athletic club.
The menu items are very eclectic. On the tapas or appetizer menu, there are wings, croquettes, calamari, patatas bravas and more. If you want a sandwich, a salad, pasta or pizza, you will have your choice at the Tin Roof Grill.
I decided to try the Pad Thai Noodles. This was a nice mix of chicken, shrimp and rice noodles in a spicy sauce. The chef can adjust the amount of heat in the dish if you don’t like it really spicy. I started the meal off with a house salad and house dressin which is a balsalmic vinaigrette. A little different, but fresh tasting.
I was with my boy and he decided on the spaghetti and meatballs. With two huge meatballs, it brought back memories of the spaghetti that my mother used to make when I was a kid. She would hand make the meatballs and it seemed like they were the size of a tennis ball.
If you are in the Salt Lake City area, the Tin Roof Grill is definitely worth a stop for lunch or dinner. It is casual and relaxing inside. With the big windows, you can literally watch the world drive by.
