If you’re planning to make a final trip to the East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center for the season, you’ll need to bring your own gear.
Starting today, the center will no longer be staffing the ticket office for rental equipment and daily ticket sales. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will need to bring their own equipment and are still required to pay the daily fee at one of the lower gates. Season pass holders are asked to carry their pass when they ski.
“There are many trails that are still skiable,” said Lance Clark, Outdoor Recreation Program Manager. “The lower trails are beginning to melt but motivated skiers can still find many miles of good Nordic skiing.”
Access to the trail system can be found by parking at the Creekside gates and skiing up to the main area. The main parking lot has been locked.
The East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center is operated by the City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department along with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest and volunteers from the Pocatello Cross-Country Ski Foundation.
