SPRINGFIELD, Mo., June 13, 2019 — Drury University’s marketing and communications team earned two international awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for its work to promote the university and the new Your Drury Fusion academic experience launching this fall.
The CASE Circle of Excellence awards honor outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising, and marketing at colleges, universities, and independent schools across the country and around the world. Winners were announced Wednesday.
Drury won a silver award for its overall marketing and branding campaign surrounding Your Drury Fusion. The new academic experience guarantees that students will graduate having discovered the power that comes from merging professional goals with personal passions. It combines life and career credentials in the form of unique undergraduate certificates; an intense focus on hand-on, real-world experiences; and life-changing mentorship for every student.
“The concept was solid and true to Drury’s brand positioning as it would be difficult to just insert any other school name,” judges said.
Drury also won a gold award for its 2018 “Go Beyond” brand video. Intended as a recruitment piece, the video was designed to appeal to many stakeholders in what has come to be known as “The Drury Family.”
“Drury University created a spectacular video that was chill producing, stunning, and well written with beautifully powerful music to tie it all together,” judges said.
“While it’s rewarding to receive recognition from such a prestigious organization, these awards are affirmation of the unique academic experience faculty have developed and that we are rolling out this Fall,” said Wendy Flanagan, EVP Marketing & Communications. “We created the materials through which to tell the Fusion story and clearly the story is resonating.”
In 2019, CASE received 2,856 entries for consideration in 100 categories by 611 member institutions in 20 countries. Judges gave more than 400 awards in the following categories: bronze, silver, gold and grand gold. Winners are selected based on a number of factors, including overall quality, innovation, use of resources and the impact on the institution or its external and internal communities, such as alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff.
