Dr. Clifton Petty named interim dean of Breech Business School

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., June 4, 2019 — Dr. Clifton D. Petty has assumed the role of interim dean of the Breech School of Business, effective this month. He has a two-year appointment to the position.

Petty, a professor of management, has been at Drury since 1993. Well-respected by faculty as well as students, Petty is an outstanding educator with real-world business experience. After graduating from Baylor University in 1984 with his MBA, he took a job with Texas Commerce Bank in Houston. He served as a corporate banker for several years before deciding to get his Ph.D. in Management and Organizational Behavior at the University of Houston.

“Clif teaches his students that service and professionalism are vital to building trust in business today,” says Drury President Dr. Tim Cloyd. “I cannot think of a better role model to serve as interim dean.”

“I am grateful and honored to lead the Breech School and collaborate with my outstanding colleagues on the Breech faculty,” says Petty. “This is an excellent time to be at Drury, given the momentum of the last few years, the plans for a new Breech building, and the upcoming launch of Your Drury Fusion this fall.”
