(Miami, FL – December 30, 2016) – Diana Arteaga, Esq., Director of Government Relations for the City of Miami has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2017 Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Committee.
“It is an honor for the City of Miami to be one of four other cities in Florida represented on this national committee. Diana will be able to shape the priorities and direction of the NLC as well as advance the City’s interests on the federal level,” said Miami City Manager Daniel J. Alfonso.
This Committee is responsible for developing policy positions on issues involving national economic policy, general financial assistance programs, liability insurance, intergovernmental relations, Census, municipal bonds and capital finance, municipal management, antitrust issues, citizen participation and civil rights, labor relations, Native American sovereignty and municipal authority.
“As an attorney and main liaison with the state legislature Diana brings the perspective and the needs of big cities like Miami to an important national platform,” said Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado.
As a member of the committee, Diana Arteaga will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the new administration and at home.
