The best of the best when it comes to volunteers for the Bannock County Ambulance District has been named.
Last week, Canda Dimick was named the 2016 Volunteer of the Year for the district by Pocatello Fire Chief David Gates. Dimick was recognized for her contributions as the coordinator for Lava Ambulance over the past 10 years and her efforts in recruiting new volunteers. In addition, over the past year she has steppedforward for a total of 199 shifts or a total of 2,388 hours of being on call since October 1, 2015.
“I’d like to thank Canda for her selfless dedication and commitment to providing this critical service to her community” said Chief Gates. “She has been an integral piece in helping to build and maintain this portion of our system. It’s because of her and volunteers like her that we can bring quality medical care to the people of Bannock County.”
For a job well done, she was presented with a $100 gift card and two plaques honoring her. One plaque will be hung at Fire Station #1 in Pocatello while the traveling plaque will make its way to the Lava Hot Springs City Hall.
