NEW ORLEANS — On July 26, 2018, special event organizers in the City of New Orleans are invited to attend a workshop hosted by the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation at Gallier Hall from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide information specifically related to sanitation plans and permitting. The Department has also invited some of the vendors that provide clean-up, recycling and composting services for special events. In addition, the Department has invited a few organizers of events to share best practices as related to special event clean-up, recycling and composting.
The City is not recommending any particular vendor or process and is only providing an opportunity for information sharing. The City is working toward resiliency goals that will require a reduction in the volume of waste that is sent to landfills and a reduction in the amount of litter on our public rights of way.
