The City of Farmington would like to thank the citizens of Farmington for their love, support, and outreach as we all work to process the tragic community loss of Ret. Engineer Jimmie Crawford, his wife, Melissa Crawford, and their two children, Grant and Chase. Many of you have asked us how you can assist the Crawford family during this difficult time. Below is a letter that City Manager, Rob Mayes, sent to City employees today suggesting one way to help.
Dear COF Family,
This past weekend the news of the tragic death of retired Farmington Fire Engineer Jimmie Crawford, his wife Melissa, and their two youngest children Chase, age 2, and and Grant, age 4, spread rapidly through our community causing unspeakable shock and pain. This precious family was lost when their vehicle was struck head on by a vehicle crossing the center lane into their path on Highway 550. They are survived by two older children. There are no words to adequately describe the extent and depth of this tragedy. Jimmie is a beloved brother in our Fire Department. This family is deeply connected to this greater community, including our City of Farmington employee family.
A memorial fund has been established locally at Wells Fargo Bank. It is my recommendation that any donations be made through this channel. The account name is “Melissa and Jimmie Crawford Memorial Fund” Account #6665919343. Simply stop in any Wells Fargo Branch and you can donate to this fund to assist the family with expenses and in support of the 2 surviving children.
