COVID-19 Case Reported Friday Confirmed to Be Community Acquired

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced that today’s lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 was found to be community acquired. Lincoln’s total number of cases is now 63. The case – a man in his 40s – is self-isolating, and his close contacts are self-quarantined.

The case that was still under investigation yesterday – a man in his 30s – was also found to be community acquired. The total of community acquired cases in Lincoln is now 45.

LLCHD is now monitoring 62 individuals. Lancaster County reports one death, 1,972 negative tests and 63 positives with 8 tests pending at the Nebraska Public Health Lab. There are now 1,078 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nebraska and 25 deaths.
