Council Member Chad West Requests Review of Key Housing Policy Task Force Initiatives

Dallas, TX – This month, Dallas City Council Member Chad West requested a review of key housing initiatives by the Housing Policy Task Force. Specifically, Council Member West has asked Task Force Chairman Bill Hall and Director of Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization David Noguera, to examine the set-aside requirement for housing incentives; creation of a Certificate Exchange Program for affordable housing; and the options for assessing a fee in lieu of providing onsite affordable housing.

“Everyone at the City of Dallas is 100% committed to meeting the affordable housing needs of the residents of Dallas. What I have experienced since coming into office in June is that the challenges are complex, and the opportunities are many,” said Council Member West. “I am grateful for the passion and support of Mayor Johnson, the Housing and Homelessness Solutions Committee, City staff and everyone with a heart for this issue. It will take all of us.”

The next meeting of the Housing Policy Task Force is scheduled 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10 at Dallas City Hall. More information about the City’s Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Department and the Housing Policy Task Force can be found here.
