We will be taking applications for the positions listed below. Job fliers for each position will be available with more information about the job.  Representatives will be there to answer any questions during the Career Fair.

POLICE RECRUIT EXAMINATION PROCESS

21 years old by date of written examination, or 20 years old, if successfully completed two (2) years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university.  Cannot have attained age 35 when the application is submitted.  (By State statute, exceptions made for individuals with prior municipal police experience.  Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 or postmarked or faxed by March 9, 2020.  Application must include a copy of the applicant’s certified birth certificate, (copy of registered certificate, not hospital copy with footprints), copy of driver’s license, and a copy of high school diploma OR high school transcript, OR GED certificate (Even if you have a college degree).  ($59,151.72/yr)

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS TELECOMMUNICATOR/TRAINEE (9-1-1 DISPATCHER)

Communication between those in need and police, fire and emergency medical services by taking emergency phone calls, sending out appropriate information for Police, Fire and EMS.  High school diploma or GED; radio or telephone communication courses helpful; prior related dispatching experience desirable; experience multi-tasking jobs a plus; must pass computerized telecommunicator test and oral interview; typing speed of 45wpm and successfully pass background investigation. ($21.84/hr.) $250 bonus upon hire, $500 bonus upon completion of one year, $250 bonus upon completion of 18 months.

CODE ENFORCEMENT AIDE

Performs inspections, investigations and resolves violations of the City environmental codes.  High School diploma or GED; and experience in public contact work in a service organization including some experience in environmental inspection. ($16.43/hr.)

ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST III – PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Typing, filing, data entry, transcribing notes or shorthand, answering telephones, developing and preparing reports, forms and documents and other generalized clerical and administrative duties.  One Year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; three to four years of experience and a minimum typing speed of 60wpm required, and a Microsoft Excel test will be administered. ($19.78/hr.)
