City of Austin Activates Cold Weather Shelter Plan

In response to an expected drop in temperatures in the Austin area, the City has activated the Cold Weather Shelter Plan in partnership with Capital Metro, The Salvation Army, and the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH).

The City does not publish the location of cold weather shelters. Individuals in need of assistance should report to the ARCH, located at 500 E. 7th St. The ARCH, along with The Salvation Army, have identified cold weather shelter locations offsite. Individuals seeking overnight shelter will be transported via buses provided by Capital Metro.

For information and updates related to all hazards, monitor the City of Austin social media (@austintexasgov, @AustinHSEM) or visit austintexas.gov/hsem.
