City Council Invited To Air Carrier Meeting By County Commissioner’s Office

CHEYENNE – City of Cheyenne council members have been invited by the County Commissioner’s Office to discuss the City securing a future air carrier contract.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13th at 310 W. 19th Street, Suite 310.

On March 26, Great Lakes Airline announced an immediate suspension of flights for the Cheyenne airport. In a response to Great Lakes’ departure, Mayor Marian Orr stated the airport has 90 days to secure a replacement carrier or Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will de-federalize Cheyenne’s checkpoint. Re-establishing the checkpoint, if lost, could take over six months.
