CITIES OF GLENDALE, PEORIA TEAM UP FOR “PARTY FOR THE PLANET” CLEAN UP EVENT IN CELEBRATION OF EARTH DAY ON APRIL 21

Glendale, Ariz. — The cities of Glendale and Peoria will team up again this year for the annual Party for the Planet event on Saturday, April 21, 7-10 a.m. at New River Trail.

Your city needs you to join the global effort to improve communities while making the world cleaner and more sustainable! Around 200 volunteers are needed to help clean up trash, brush and debris in the river bed and along the pathways.

Get your group together or come alone to pick up trash and debris along the New River trail system. The site for this year’s Earth-friendly event is around 99th and Northern avenues. All materials for the project will be provided, in addition to water and light snacks. Volunteers should wear tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes and dress in layers, bring gloves and wear sunscreen.

To preregister, visit the city’s website at www.glendaleaz.com/neighborhoodservices/CommunityVolunteerProgram.cfm or for additional information, call 623-930-2820. On-site registration and check in starts at 6:30 a.m. Preregistered volunteers need to check in by 7 a.m.
