Cheyenne Fire Rescue and the Downtown Development Authority/Main Street will host “Skate with Sparky” from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12 at the Depot Plaza.
Kids of all ages will be able to meet Sparky, his fellow firefighters, go inside a fire truck, and get holiday safety tips from Sparky, and firefighters.
For the second year, the DDA/Main Street has installed a temporary outdoor ice rink at the Depot Plaza. There is no charge to skate at the plaza, however, you must use skates supplied by the manufacturer of the synthetic ice rink.
“This event allows the public to come out and skate, meet Sparky, and get some holiday safety tips from Cheyenne Fire Rescue,” said Greg Hoggatt, Chief for Cheyenne Fire Rescue. “The kids will love the idea they can climb into a fire truck and see what it is like to be a firefighter.”
