Charity Dinner Focuses on Literacy
The St. George Book Festival will once again highlight literacy at its Annual Literacy Charity Dinner to be held Friday, October 23rd at 6 pm on the 3rd floor of the St. George Children’s Museum. In its 3rd year, the Charity Dinner will be a gala style fete featuring well-known authors, dignitaries, and honored guests.
Master of Ceremonies will be Joe Nipote, actor, comedian, and writer. Nipote, who starred in the television series Viper for five seasons, has Guest-starred on numerous television shows, and films voiced hundreds of animation projects. He has also written several children’s books including Eggy Yolk and the Dirty Rotten Dozen.
Keynote Speaker for the evening will be actor and writer, Craig Clyde. With over 21 featured film credits and has appeared in over sixty major films and national television programs as an actor for all major network – as well as numerous stage roles, Clyde has been nominated for an IRIS Award and an Emmy for his work. His video, Lighting the Way—The Olympic Dream was used to help create the winning bid for Utah for the 2002 Winter Games.
Honored guests include Mayor Jon Pike and wife Kristy, along with award-winning authors, Justin Osmond, Candy Lish Fowler, Jonathan Diaz, Amy Jarecki, Julie Olson, Mikey Brooks, Johnny Worthen, Berk Washburn, Dawn McLain, Darren Edwards, VS Grenier, David W. Smith, J.E. Thompson, Russ Beck, Steven Armstrong, James Duckett, Janice Brooks, Jack Rolfe, and many more!
Net proceeds from the Literacy Charity Dinner tickets and silent auction will help benefit the Washington County Library System, the St. George Children’s Museum literary programs, and the Washington County School District Foundation.
