Perhaps, many of you have visited Central America and enjoyed the food available in countries like El Salvador. In these countries the small restaurants abound with good, freshly cooked meals. One of the pluses in those countries is that the meals are always inexpensive and hot.
The other day, I needed a break while I was working in Logan and thought I would visit a restaurant that I haven????????t been to for quite some time. Located in the Pine Crest shopping center on 1400 North Main is the Pupuseria ??????El Salvador??????. It is tucked in the corner of the complex kind of by itself and you do need to look for it. However, once you enter, it is comfortable.
People from all walks of life have discovered the Pupuseria and come for lunch and dinner. It is not a large restaurant with just 10 tables, but you don????????t need ??????large?????? when you come here. There is a large selection of choices on the menu from appetizers to dessert.
I ordered a pupusa with pork, beans and cheese. This is like a small size pita bread stuffed and cooked with the filling. I also ordered Yucca Frite which comes with some meat and the yucca which are cooked like fries. Served simply with a spicy slaw and home-made sauces.
The portions are not large. However, menu items are not expensive and if you want to try several things, you will not break the bank. The value is there, just like you might find when you are visiting El Salvador and one of their interesting local cafes.
I had forgotten how pleasant the Pupuseria ??????El Salvador?????? was and I will be returning again and suggesting to others that they should try it.
If you are going, the Pupuseria ??????El Salvador?????? is located at 95 East 1400 North, Logan, Utah (435) 752-0676.
