Celebrity Author Joe Nipote Joins the Celebration of the 2015 St. George Book Festival
St. George, UT – One Pen, One Idea, One Reader’s Journey is the catchphrase for the number one Southern Utah literary festival. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the St. George Book Festival and its director, Virginia S Grenier; along with her committee asked Celebrity Author Joe Nipote to join the celebration and week-long programming featuring over 50 authors this year throughout the book festival event.
Joe Nipote, one of the favorite comic actors of Hollywood, has starred in some of TV’s biggest franchises: Casper to Suite Life on Deck to the hit show Viper. Joe has Guest-Starred on countless television shows and films from Happy Days, Murphey Brown, The Jefferson’s, 21 Jump Street, Northern Exposure, Curb Your Enthusiasm, to the cult film Meatball’s II. He started his career as a standup comedian headlining comedy clubs all across the country and has appeared on HBO’s 5th Annual Young Comedian’s Special, Showtime, Comedy Central, A&E, Fox, and numerous talk shows.
This fall Joe Nipote and Rick Dees, an icon in Southern California, have come together with the most creative children’s book this year, EGGY YOLK and the Dirty Rotten Dozen (Dees Publishing, ISBN: 978-0-9855417-6-7). It’s become such a sensation, there’s even talk of an animated series.
The St. George Book Festival committee is excited to announce not only will they be showcasing Joe Nipote and Rick Dees’ children’s book, but Joe will also be master of ceremonies at this year’s annual Literacy Charity Dinner on Friday, October 23.
“We wanted the 10th Anniversary of the book festival to be special. We have some really cool opportunities for the St. George community,” said Virginia S Grenier, SGBF Director. “There are, of course, some huge authors with celebrity above and beyond their writing, such as Joe Nipote, but there are also some powerhouse award-winning authors and emerging writers coming this year. Many of these authors live here locally.”
