Teen Board Game Night – September 7
Time to test those friendships and see if they can survive a game night! Bring your friends and try out the latest and greatest games. Betray your friends in The Resistance or show off your art skills in Telestrations. We have a ton of board games, so there’s something for everyone! Ages 13-18 are invited to Hebron & Josey Library (4220 N. Pooch Pool Party – September 9
Say goodbye to summer at the annual Pooch Pool Party. Bring your dog out for friendly competitions and swimming. Your pooch won’t want to miss the dog races, a dress-up competition, a dog/owner look-alike contest, and a chance to splash around. Dog admission is $5; the event is free for humans. The Carrollton West Pet Hospital will also be on site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. offering free rabies vaccinations for the first 200 pets. Carrollton’s 2018 pet photo calendar will be on sale for $10. Step on the Square in Downtown Carrollton – September 9
The City welcomes anyone with a tune in their heart and a skip in their step to enjoy an evening under the stars in Downtown Carrollton on Saturday, September 9. Come Step on the Square in Downtown to the beat of King George: A Tribute to George Strait. And because there’s a difference in dancing and dancing well, the fun begins at 6 p.m. with two-step dance lessons followed by the band’s performance from 7-9 p.m. Bring a date or find one there and get “Carried Away” for an evening of classic country covers of one of Texas’ own. Get those boots scootin’ to Downtown at 1106 S. Broadway Street and enjoy Carrollton’s local shopping and dining. ABCs of Genealogy Class Continues – September 12
Looking to find your long lost relatives? Join Carrollton resident and local genealogist J.T. McKinney at the Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) for the ABCs of Genealogy Series. Free classes will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
