Adulting 101: Home Buying Basics – September 20

Teen Cookies & Crafting – September 20

Community Health Workshop – September 22

The Carrollton Public Library is offering a series of health literacy courses this fall in an effort to promote a healthy community and answer citizens’ health related questions. Things kick-off with the Community Health Workshop on Saturday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to noon at Hebron & Josey Library (4220 N. Josey Lane). A representative from the UNT Health Science Center will be presenting a Community Health Workshop. Explore reliable resources for health information online, learn about the National Library of Medicine’s resource MedlinePlus.gov, and discuss health concerns within the community. Want to learn what it takes to finance a business? The Library is offering a series of business classes this fall to address all the ins and outs of business structures, increasing revenue, and recordkeeping. Join us for the second course in this series, Financing Your Own Business, at Hebron & Josey Library (4220 N. Josey Lane) on Monday, September 24 from 7-8 p.m. In this class attendees will learn about increasing revenue, reducing costs, and reducing your tax liability as a means of increasing liquidity. The ABCs of Genealogy – September 24

Interested in finding long lost relatives? Join other aspiring genealogists this fall for sessions led by Carrollton resident and local expert J.T. McKinney. The ABCs of Genealogy classes are held at Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Tuesday of each month through October 16, and at Hebron & Josey Library (4220 N. Josey Lane) from 7-9 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month through October 22. The series focuses on search tools, websites, family trees, search engines, and by popular demand, Find A Grave™. 2018 Festival at the Switchyard Full Entertainment Lineup

The City of Carrollton is excited to announce the full entertainment lineup for the 9th Annual Festival at the Switchyard on Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street). The lineup will bring a wide array of musical talent and family fun to the Downtown Square. Main stage entertainment include headliner Stone Temple Pilots, along with openers Tonic, Vertical Horizon, Downtown Fever, Texas Flood, Jelly Ellington, Straight Tequila Night, Redline, and counterfeit Radio.

The Children’s entertainment inside the Plaza Arts Center will include a plethora of unique acts sure to incite wonder and amazement. Children’s acts include stunt juggler Matt Tardy, hula hoop artist Corean Gonzales, magician Landon Stark, and Stuntman Christopher Lyle. Front of stage entertainment include the Creekview High School Chevals, CFR Pipes and Drums, A Body in Motion Dance Studio, Sidekicks, Martial Arts, and Texas Dynamix Gymnastics.

The Grammy® award-winning band, Stone Temple Pilots, will rock the 2018 Festival at the Switchyard. The group’s debut album, Core (1992) featuring hits such as “Plush” and “Wicked Garden” was a huge success, making it to number three on the Billboard Top 200 chart. STP went on to sell more than 35 million albums worldwide with the release of Purple (1994), Tiny Music (1996), No. 4 (1999), and Shangri-la Dee Da (2001). Now, more than 25 years later, the band has shifted lead vocals to Jeff Gutt, a veteran of the Detroit music scene.
