Call the Cops! Jail Break Music Party and Benefit for St. Louis HELP

St. Louis, Missouri…Lovers of live music and great barbecue are invited to a Jail Break Music Party and Benefit for the St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program (St. Louis HELP) on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Mad Art Gallery, a renovated police station and jail house in Soulard.

Admission is free. Daddy Mellow, the Coco Rico Jazz Trio and Rosewood will individually perform from 7 pm to 10 p.m. in the gallery at 2727 South 12th Street. There is no cover charge to attend and enjoy the event. Menu service will be provided by Capitalist Pig Barbeque on the premises.

The Jail Break Music Party will feature a raffle and prizes with any donations benefiting St. Louis HELP (, the not-for-profit Health Equipment Lending Program that freely loans revitalized home medical equipment to any person who needs it.

In 2014, St. Louis HELP loaned 6,193 items including hospital beds, wheelchairs, scooters, lift chairs, walkers, crutches and other reconditioned home health equipment. Every year, this charitable mission diverts about 140 tons of equipment that would otherwise end up in landfills.

Daddy Mellow is a singer-songwriter who performs cowboy ballads, folk music and love songs. The Coco Rico Jazz Trio performs gypsy jazz music popularized by Django Reinhardt in France during the 1930s-40s.  Rosewood performs country rock, folk and pop, with harmonious tributes to Crosby, Still & Nash and The Byrds.

Why call the cops? The Mad Art Gallery is a former 1930s police station and jail renovated into a contemporary art gallery and event space near the Anheuser Busch brewery in historic Soulard. It features the original jail cells where event guests can hang out, plus a spacious, high-walled outdoor patio.

Capitalist Pig Barbecue uses products from local farmers who raise animals on a primarily vegetarian diet and grow only organic produce. The animals are not treated with antibiotics, hormones or fed animal-by-products. Capitalist Big Barbecue is deliciously tender, tasty and mouth watering.
