Cache Valley Arts Summit to Celebrate Ten Year Anniversary

Cache Valley Arts Summit welcomes visual and performing artists and art organizations to celebrate ten years of strengthening and developing the arts in the Cache Valley community.

Arts Summit will celebrate at the next meeting on July 21, 2015 from noon to 1PM in the Carousel Ballroom of the Bullen Center at 43 South Main Street in Logan, UT.
The meeting agenda includes:

  • Local Arts Agency discussion led by representatives of the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, our state arts agency, including a quick refresher on the do’s and don’ts of grant writing.
  • Follow-up on RAPZ funding discussion.
  • Bring your upcoming events to add to the calendar.
  • Fall brochure reminders.
  • Cake!

“I can't imagine it has been ten years!  We have done so many things from just the actual meeting to the shared arts brochure to the 84% passage of the RAPZ renewal, to hearing about insurance issues for non-profits to joint planning and collaboration and Arts Month…
“Best wishes for a great 10 years of Arts Summit!” – Wally Bloss, founder
“Cache Valley is such an arts rich community, it makes good sense to bring together the movers and the shakers from that sector to collaborate. Our combined voice makes us stronger, and looking back its good to see that we were heard at some crucial moments.” Marianne Sidwell
“It takes people with vision and or stubbornness to make things happen. We are lucky to have had all these great [people] pushing the project forward.” Amanda Castillo
Background information:
Cache Valley Arts Summit is supported by the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, the designated local arts agency for the Cache Valley community.  Arts Summit worked with Logan City to designate the Theatre District in downtown Logan.  Arts Summit led the campaign for RAPZ renewal which was passed with a staggering ratio of support (84%), the highest in the state that year, to fund arts and tourism projects in the county, exemplifying excellence for local arts advocacy and amazing community support in the state of Utah.  Thank you Cache County voters!  Arts Summit headed a food drive called Hungry for the Arts.  Arts Summit meetings support professional development and function as a coordinating force for all arts organizations, promoting communication, cooperation, arts advocacy, and community awareness.

Cache Valley Arts Summit is a multidisciplinary collective of art leaders from around the valley who meet quarterly and is differentiated from other arts organizations by its responsibility for supporting the arts throughout the community.  Cache Valley Arts Summit also produces the Cache Valley Arts Calendar brochure which reaches over 14,000 households and is supported by RAPZ funding. This brochure contains information on performing and visual art events and classes in Cache Valley during the Fall, Winter, and Summer seasons.  If you would like your name placed on the Arts Calendar brochure mailing list or have your event listed, please call 435-554-7065.  Arts Summit information can be found online at www.CacheArts.org/gallery-walk/arts-summit/ or in the Cache Valley Arts brochure.
