There used to be a Burger Bar in Layton, Utah. When it closed, there was much speculation because it had always been really busy and the food had been good. The reason for its closure seemed pretty obvious when the building was razed and replaced with a brand new Starbucks restaurant. Would the Burger Bar in Roy meet the same fate?
Happily, it did not. Many still flock to the Burger Bar in Roy for its burgers–and more. The signature burger at Burger Bar is the Big Ben. If you’re not in the mood for burgers, the Burger Bar claims it has the “best chicken fingers in town.”
So, I gave the chicken fingers a try. Sure enough, they were very good. Arguably the best in Roy, although I’ll admit I haven’t eaten everywhere in Roy where chicken fingers are served. Let’s just say these were mighty fine; crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The ranch dressing was good, as were the fries.
The corn dog was very good, too, but the chicken fingers were yummy. Even so, the best things about Burger Bar are its super-friendly staff, the fun of walking up to the window to order–and being able to jump back into your car if it’s cold outside to wait to hear your order number on the loud speaker. It’s a fun throwback to the old drive-up burger joints.
Next time, maybe I’ll try the Big Ben. If I do…just know that the chicken fingers will be hard to pass up!
