Bring the family to this weekend’s Spring Forward for Autism Run/Walk

Reno NevadaReno, Nevada (April 27, 2017) — The JUSTin HOPE Foundation will be hosting its annual Spring Forward for Autism 5K Run/Walk event on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. at the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Festivities will be held in front of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center.

This event brings families and friends together to support those affected by autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities while enjoying a 5K timed run (starts at 8:30 a.m.) or a 5K walk (starts at 9:15 a.m.) through the UNR campus.

The event will include a Kids’ Corner with bounce houses, a face painter, balloon twister, mechanical bull and a photo box. There will once again be a Hugs N Heroes Corner, where community members will have the opportunity to interact with local police and fire personnel. Safety resources and information will be distributed. Many local vendors will also be present displaying their services.

Proceeds from the event this year will be used to open a much-needed Resources, Respite and Recreation Center.

The JUSTin HOPE Foundation is a local nonprofit in northern Nevada founded by parents of a child with autism who know firsthand the effects that neurodevelopmental disorders can have on a family. JUSTin HOPE supports local families by providing support and/or opportunities that are otherwise not available.
