The City of Boulder is requesting Letters of Intent (LOIs) to provide severe weather sheltering services (SWS) for adults experiencing homelessness in the City of Boulder.
SWS services are implemented when the following weather conditions are met in the City of Boulder:
- National Weather Service warning or watch for winter weather, winter storm, blizzard, cold/wind chill, extreme cold/wind chill, heavy snow, ice storm; OR
- National Weather Service predicts a temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below; OR
- National Weather Service predicts a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit or below with precipitation predicted.
The selected contractor will plan, implement and manage all aspects of SWS in the City of Boulder, between Oct. 1, 2018 and Sept. 30, 2019, including start up, staffing, program rules and oversight, client services, security, sanitation, liaison with the city, securing and managing service sites, client data tracking, monitoring weather conditions to implement SWS, and communicating with clients and local referring organizations about times, dates and locations of SWS.
Existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies or governmental entities with experience in providing related/similar services for homeless adults are eligible.
